Bioenergy derived from forest biomass is considered carbon neutral primarily because current accounting rules specify that emissions are accounted when the wood is removed from the forest, not when the carbon is actually emitted to the atmosphere.

Construction continues on the new Assembly Hall, part of the House of Learning at Thompson Rivers University. It will become the main focal point and centerpiece of the University. The completed building will feature a sod roof, and log roof panels consisting of 492 beetle-killed pine logs.

The 2010 Canadian Gymnastics Championships take place in Kamloops, BC from May 24 to May 30, 2010. With 800 athletes, coaches and officials participating and over 300 volunteers, this is the largest national gymnastics event held annually in Canada.
