TRU Gymnasium
This year’s Cariboo Mainline Regional Science Fair, co-sponsored by TRU Faculty of Science is underway. (See below for daily schedule of events). This event showcases over 140 science fair projects from the Cariboo region comprised of students from grades 4 to 12. A few thousand dollars worth of prizes will be awarded and the top winners will be off to the national fair in Ontario in May.
MAGIC IN THE AIR
A Chemistry Magic Show will kick-start the awards presentation on Thursday (April 1).
And to keep the momentum going, the top senior student will receive a prize of a semester of free tuition. Making the presentation will be Tom Dickinson, who is TRU’s Dean of Science.

Tuesday March 30th
3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Registration & Project Set up in TRU Gym
Wednesday, March 31st
8:00 am – 9:00 am Registration & Set-up of Projects (continues)
Judge’s Workshop (judges only)
9:00 am Students assemble in Bleachers
9:15 am – 9:30 am Introductions
9:30 am – 12:00 pm Judging of projects & Student activities
“AM” Judging Group – Goldberg Project & Judging
“PM” Judging Group- TRU campus activity
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Lunch ( Students are on their own for lunch – they can eat
at the cafeteria in the Campus Activity Centre or eat a bagged lunch in the bleacher section of the gym.
1:00 pm – 3:30 pm Judging and Student Activities continue
“PM” Judging Group – Goldberg Project & Judging
“AM” Judging Group – TRU campus activity
3:30 pm – 5:00 pm Public Viewing – students are expected to be at their projects during this viewing session.
5:30 pm – 6:00 pm Pizza Dinner in Terrace Room at Campus Activity Centre
(tickets have been provided for all participants. Parents/ chaperones may purchase tickets at Registration Desk.)
6:00 pm Students are picked up by parents at TRU Campus Activity Center
7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Public Viewing
Thursday, April 1st
8:00 am – 9:00 am Public Viewing (with students present)
9:00 am Students assemble in the bleachers
9:00 am – 9:45 am A Science Presentation
10:00 am – 10:45 am Certificate Presentations
10:45 am – 11:30 am Major Award Presentations
11:30 am => (noon) Projects are removed from the gym & students are dismissed
